Several reported problems with TheRecipeManager not running on Vista can be fixed by running the program as administrator. This can be done using the following steps.

Navigate to TheRecipeManager application in the folder C:\Program Files\TheRecipeManager\TRM

Right click TheRecipeManager application and then select Properties from the resultant context menu.

On the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab. At the bottom of that window, under Privilege Level check the box labeled Run this program as an administrator. Then select the Apply button to save the change.

Close the folder and then on your Desktop double click the shortcut to TheRecipeManager to launch the program.
