After upgrading to the latest version 3 release of TheRecipeManager you may have a situation where you want to access your old recipe datafile (TRM.df1). Doing so is a quick process which just requires you to copy and rename the old file.

Firstly, quit TheRecipeManager. Then copy the recipe datafile you wish to access, probably TRM.df1 into the Folder c:\Program Files\TheRecipeManager\TRM\Cookbooks

The go to the start menu and select Command Prompt from the Accessories Folder

At the command prompt type cd\ and then press the Return key.

Then from the c:\ prompt, type cd Program Files\TheRecipeManager\TRM\Cookbooks and then press the Return key.

Then type ren TRM.df1 TRM.ckbk and press the Return key. Close the Command Prompt window.

Finally you can now relaunch TheRecipeManager and you will be able access your converted datafile from the cookbook library window.
