TheRecipeManager has an API (application program interface) to enable recipes to be formatted for import. This sounds very grand,
but it is very simple to use.
From the 'File' menu, move down to the 'Create Import Template' option. This will then provide you with two choices.
You can either select 'As Text File...' or 'On Clipboard'. If you choose the Text File option, you will be be presented
with the 'Create an empty Recipe Template file' window. From here you can name and choose where to save the file. If you choose
the Clipboard option, then the template will be sent to the clipboard.
The template shows you how recipes need to be formatted for import into TheRecipeManager.
It displays the maximum number of characters that you can use in each field.
The best way of seeing how this works is to export an existing recipe to plain text or clipboard and then compare this with the required formatting
specified in the API.
It is important to leave the '*Exported from TheRecipeManager*' tag at the top of the template. This identifies the file for import.
Even if you don't have all the information to complete all the fields, you should leave the labels in anyway.
