TheRecipeManager Backup command will create a complete backup of all of your recipes in TheRecipeManager. It is important to note that this is different from exporting your recipes.
When you use the Back Up My Data... command it will create a duplicate copy of your datafiles in the location you specify. The folder that is created looks like this:
If you look in the backup folder you will see that it contains a Commoninfo.dnd file, which contains common information such as meal plans, shopping lists and schedules. You will also see a cookbook folder which contains the datafiles for all your cookbooks.
Backing up your recipes is not the same as exporting your recipes. You could use the export commands to export all your recipes for a backup, but this doesn't backup the common information or maintain datafiles for separate cookbooks.
We would always recommend that you use the Back Up My Data command to create a backup and that you create a backup on a fairly regular basis. Computers can do strange things sometimes and you won't want to lose recipes that are important to you.
