We have had reports from several customers of problems when upgrading to the new version 3.1.1 release. This problem can be identifed by the following error message:

Several other error messages appear before you are prompted to serialise with the following window (which is not the correct serialization window).

If you open a Finder window and look at the folder /Applications/TheRecipeManager you should something similar to the Finder window below.

To rectify this problem you should move to Trash the Folder /Applications/TheRecipeManager.

DO NOT remove the folder /Documents/TheRecipeManager User Data. This Folder contains your recipes datafile.

Now you should run the installer again. If you want more details on the installer then please read the Install Guide.

After the installer has run and you have serialized TheRecipeManager you will be prompted to convert your existing recipe datafile to a version 3 cookbook. The top button will allow you to do this and will be labeled 'Convert My [Number] Recipes from Version 2. Press this button to continue.

You will then be prompted to add details of your new cookbook. Once you have done this select the √ save button.

Then the datafile will then be converted to a cookbook. This may take a few minutes and you will see a progress window.

When the file has been converted to a cookbook you will see a Conversion Complete window which details what has happened to the file and reminds you to make regular Backups of your cookbooks. Press the 'OK' button to continue.
