Adding cookbooks that you have either downloaded from our website or swapped with friends and family is very easy to do.

If you have downloaded a cookbook from our website Cookbooks page then you will see the cookbook you downloaded listed in your Downloads window of Safari.

Unless you have specified a different location for the download, the cookbook will have been downloaded into your downloads folder.

Select 'Quit TheRecipeManager' from 'TheRecipeManager' menu to quit the application. Then move the new cookbook from the Downloads folder (or from where ever you saved it) to the folder /Documents/TheRecipeManager User Data/Cookbooks.

Now launch TheRecipeManager. The new cookbook will not automatically open, so you will need to open the cookbook library by selecting the Enter Library button at the bottom left hand side of the recipe browser and then open the new cookbook.

You can set the cookbook to open when you launch TheRecipeManager via the cookbook preferences.

Note. When you add a new cookbook it is worth synchronizing the cookbook with your existing cookbooks, so any new categories, types, origins, classifications and measures are added to your common info datafile.
